The second week of this year's Scarborough Spa Express, and again its LMS ‘Jubilee’ locomotive, 45699 ‘Galatea’, entering platform 5 at York railway station, but from a rather different angle compared with last week ( http://365project.org/fishers/365/2019-06-21 ).
Quite a large crowd of photographers this week, which can make getting a clear shot quite difficult, particularly when lots of rail passengers get in on the act with their phones.
Looks like these shots could become a regular feature of our project this summer!
Thank you all for your comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I should add that this shot was taken from a safe place, despite it looking like it is heading straight for me - the track curves away to the right of me. I was stood on a platform and not close to the edge. People taking photos of steam trains, particularly the 'Flying Scotsman', have caused considerable problems in recent months by wandering into unsafe areas, and there has been a serious risk that people could be injured or killed.
Sadly no ride on this service to Scarborough, I'm far too busy at the moment getting photos of it!
The main reason to plant those trees are to strengthen ,and prevent the sides of erosion.
