At the western end of the village there are a number of attractive views over the surrounding area. Here, we look across the Esk Valley, where the river is closely followed by the railway. Cricket is being played (bottom right). There are a variety of architectural styles in the buildings. Above all the heather moors can be seen, with a disused quarry, an area of heather where there was a fire during last summer’s heatwave, and a disused railway incline.
Thank you for your lovely comments and favs. Ian will be back later today and will be able to see them.
Castleton is a lovely place with a wonderful Tea Shop, if you ever visit......

@ninaganci Thank you Nina, and thank you for the fav - one of the great things about 365 is to see and enjoy the differences between the places where we live.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry - that is a good way to see some lovely places and objects. I often watch Countryfile on Sunday evenings to enjoy the lovely countryside they show.
