Daisies are another plant that gardeners regard as a weed, but which I find quite cheerful.
This shot was taken on Clifton Ings, on the flood bank, the slope of the bank giving the effect of low sun.
In Norse mythology, the daisy is Freya's sacred flower. Freya is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility, and as such the daisy came to symbolize childbirth, motherhood, and new beginnings.
I love daisies, they are so fresh looking always the first flowers in the lawns and grass , I am quite sad when the first cut of spring takes them away
Definitely not weeds, but neither are dandelions and buttercups and and and...just plants in the wrong place
Didn't know the Norse story, very interesting.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I'm glad so many of you like daisies - we have a carpet of them in the lawn at the back of our house and I am very reluctant to cut them.
