Hear no evil, See no evil and Speak no evil

Although Moorsbus has finished for this year, there are still a few service buses that will take us from York to the edge of the North York Moors, so on Friday Katharine and I took the Reliance 31X service to Kirkbymoorside, since we had been told about a craft exhibition at All Saints Church there.

The display went under the theme of 'A Kingdom of Stories' and it was the third Woolcrafters Exhibition. I'm not sure how many exhibits there were, but it must have been over 100, since I took over 80 photos and I know I didn't get photos of everything. Some were small humerous things like this, while others were on a much larger scale.

It was well worth a visit, but the return home was a little more difficult because of the small number of buses directly back to York, so we headed eastwards to Pickering and then caught a Coastliner bus directly back to York.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

It was an enjoyable trip out, and nice to talk to some of the enthusiastic crafters at the display. The next exhibition is in two years time and will be based around a theme of 'countries of the world'.

Moorsbus was a very extensive network when it was financially supported by the National Park, but sadly that funding was withdrawn and the network closed in 2014. Following that a group of supporters set up their own organisation and did lots of fundraising to restart the network. Each year it has grown a little as fundsraising has allowed, and York rejoined the network in 2017. Last year there was no service due to Covid-19 and there were doubts about how popular a service would be this year, so it only ran from 1st July to 30th September. I expect that they will aim to gradually start the season earlier over the next few years giving us more time to visit, but that will all depend on the result of fundraising efforts.
