Another shot of the Canadian Maple in Homestead Park, this time a close-up of a cluster of leaves showing the range and richness of colour.
I'm looking forward to my next walk to the Homestead Park to see how things have changed since the strong winds on Saturday. York appears to have been quite fortunate with relatively modest winds compared with areas further towards the coast and to the north.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I had planned a walk to the Homestead Park today to see the effects of the weekend winds, but I got side-tracked and ended up having a look at the preparatory works taking place on Clifton and Rawcliffe Ings before major works begin to raise the height of the flood defences, part of a programme of works in the city that has been taking place following the severe floods of 2015-16.
autumn is so beautiful

Thank you Joyce - this is a lovely tree when it turns red, but I suspect that it probably lost a lot of leaves in the wind at the weekend.
