One of the neer areas of the Museum Gardens is an Edible Garden, with examples of over 50 edible plants. The garden was created in an area that had long been neglected, with temporary buildings from the Second World War which had long ago been abandoned. The dereliction was cleared and the new garden opened around 2015.
It is a relatively quiet place, overlooked by many visitors to the Museum Gardens, but with a lot to see - and several benches where you can sit and enjot the relative quiet.
This shot of a leaf on one of the plants in the Edible Garden shows the advance of autumn, with the dark green fading to light green. I like the way this makes the structure of the leaf easier to see.
I'm not looking forward to winter, but I do like to see colours in many plants transformed during autumn.
Great close up of those nice colors and patterns on this beautiful leave. Fav.
( The law has protected the bikes very well. By any accident a motorisize verhicle is invold the the motor verhicle is to blame. It has to know it`s bigger and stronger. And they promote cycling for economic and nature care reasons )
Different leaves on different types of plant transition in a wide variety of different ways. The colours they change to can be widely different as well. Some are yellow, others orange or red, giving a rather magical display of mixed colour each autumn.
@fishers wow! Thanks for sharing.
In South Africa, we have ever green trees, and very very few trees that loose leaves. This is why I am fascinated to learn more
Do all leaves do this dramatic change or only this particular edible leaf

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It's amazing how attractive leaves can be as they loose their green colour in autumn. Always an interesting time of year for photos!

In this case the leaf isn't edible, but the raspberry fruit is delicious!

Keep watching Nina - I'm sure there will be more trees changing their colours in autumn appearing in our project over the next few weeks!
