Apparently the oldest in Britain. In trying to straighten the bridge and gatehouse, I managed to chop a bit off the boy feeding the ducks. You live and learn.
I took my driving test in Monmouth and remember driving over the bridge lots of times during lessons. Only one car could go through at a time so, as a learner, I dreaded the approach in case something was coming the other way. Now pedestrianized, it's good to see it so well looked after.
