Or at least it was until 1959, just before I was born. My mother used the train to get to work and I remember hearing that a new farmer to the village brought his cows up on the train from Devon and then herded them through the village to his farm. I'm sure I remember the Signalman up in the box as he operated the level crossing too.
It is hard to imagine that the herd of cows would travel on the train - but I have in my head a passenger carriage which isn't what you mean atall I am sure! It would be lovely if the station could be renovated.
