It's been at least 40 years since I've done any embroidery and it's certainly changed since then. Having run out of wool for a knitting project, I ordered this kit online and have really enjoyed it. Only back stitch, satin stitch and French knots but just right to get back into it and fill some time during lockdown.
My Dad was hospitalised for a long period after the 2nd World War and he was encouraged to take up tapestry to fill the days. We still have some his pieces in the family. It is clearly an absorbing pastime.
