Yesterday afternoon was bright and sunny so we took a stroll through part of the village starting at the church and wending our way across the meadow which used to be a Roman settlement 2000 years ago. A 1000 years later there was a castle here. Sadly there are no remains of either but the moat is still there. The white cottage which is pretty old overlooks the meadow.
