The Jewel in the Crown Ely Cathedral. by foxes37

The Jewel in the Crown Ely Cathedral.

The original traditional tower collapsed in the 1300s and was replaced by this amazing octagon tower in 1342. The central part is known as the lantern and is lined with magnificent stained glass windows which look stunning when the sun is shining on them. I know I’m always going on about Ely Cathedral but it really is superb.
And they didn’t need a computer to design this fabulous structure.
