Met my friend Carolyn for a walk along the ridge. Its mostly wooded now but I think was an old Victorian park. We found this quite nice art work on someone's back gate. Carolyn has spent lockdown living on a boat so is glad of longer days and hopefully warmer weather. Bessie was overly giddy and jumped up at everyone we met. Mainly students thankfully so all happy to be greeted this way but this is going to be a hard nut to crack. Sigh.
Ridge as in back of headingley? My first year hall was Devonshire, my house was Ridgeway and backed onto the ridge. We used to walk along it into Headingley. Crazy to think that was 22 years ago now!
@newbank Yes exactly that. We were probably staring into your bedroom window. I was in the cheap seats next door at James Bailey. Cell block H to be precise. More like... cough... 35 years ago.
@fueast I never felt that at home in Dev! Had friends in year above, their flat was right on hyde park corner above the curved shops. I camped on their lounge half my first year! Then many a happy year in the depths of hyde park.
Blimey we never cured Monty of jumping up at visitors to the house except when I was willing to engage him in a whole load of tricks while they sat there wondering if they’d ever get a cup of tea. @newbank pretty sure my brother in law was at Devonshire but it was all boys then and my sister was in an all female one which is a hotel or something now - that’s because we’re all dead old. Hopefully the current lot will all get back before too long.

At least Bessie is friendly and am sure she will calm herself in time.
