Near the end of a long walk, exhausted in the hot sun, I was torn between feeling very sorry for this poor sheep and giggling at the sight of it. The sheep didn't seem to mind at all.
That is big sheep! Bless it’s heart! I’ve seen sheep painted before marking something but not sure what. If it is for shearing the wool I would think they wouldn’t want it pink and blue!
I believe it has something to do with mating, my family used to be sheep farmers. When mating, the ram mounts the ewe and a bit of dye is left on the back, that way the farmer knows which ones have been impregnated. They then get taken to a different field. Great shot of this huge ewe, maybe she's pregnant ;-)
