The Llanddwyn Island Lighthouse, on Ynys Llanddwyn in Anglesey, Wales. I Walked to here last Friday. The weather was dry, but incredibly windy and cold, the coastline here is renown for its sand dunes. The wind was blowing the sand everywhere, it was difficult to see at times as I walked along the sand, and I was concerned about using my camera for fear of sand getting in.
I sheltered behind a large rock at the end of the island, and set my camera on a tripod. I used a 9-stop ND filter and took two shots, one with a 30 second exposure, and one with a 15 second exposure, I was attempting to get a ghostly effect of the water as it crashed onto the rocks. I didn't spend to much time there because even sheltering it was still very windy, the sand was in my eyes and I couldn't use my hands fully they were that cold. Anyway, this was what I ended up with.
Oh another fav, Lee - superb. Great composition (again!) and love the water and textures in the rock. Think I just said all that with your pony. Minus the word 'rock'.
Brilliant shot, well worth all the effort. I remember the wind on Anglesey. See if you can get a photo of a straight tree. Every tree I saw there were on a bit of a slant due to the wind.
So very worth all the discomfort Lee Lovely textures of the beautiful sprays of the sea against the rough and rugged rocky land -Beautiful windy Anglesey a fav
