On the day after our big snowfall, my backyard looked a little like a whack-a-mole game. My footprints, made just after the storm, had sunk about 4 inches into the snow and then frozen, and the squirrels were hoping in and out of them, looking for peanuts. ( No squirrels were actually whacked during this process LOL).
@rensala The young squirrels here seem to have a lot of red in their tails and in a stripe that runs down their back. As they get older it fades and they become grey/beige all over, except on their tummies.
