The Day You Find Out Why by gardenfolk

The Day You Find Out Why

When I am 100 years old, I will be a polesman (policeman) and handcuff crooks. (It also said Poles (police) on the paddy wagons but the processing washed it out.)

The two most important days in your life
are the day you were born and
the day you find out why.
...Mark Twain

I think the purpose of life is to be useful,
to be responsible, to be honorable, to be compassionate.
It is after all, to matter,
to count, to stand for something,
to have made a difference
that you lived at all.
...Leon Rosten

A Happy Birthday to my dear 34 year old baby boy! He knew he wanted to be in law enforcement before he was 6 or 7 years old when he drew this picture in school. After college, he was sponsored in the Sheriff's Academy at age 22. I have envied people who find out early their purpose and stick to the plan. I was clueless, except that I wanted to be a mother.

Nice on black.
How very special this is!! Love it! fav

That is wonderful Lisa! I wish I’d had that strong desire but I am more the free creative spirit. I admire those who know early and make it happen!

@helenhall Thank you, Helen. We had a slide show at my son's wedding and had this drawing in the loop. I did edit the drawing for 365 but the original is a prized possession. He has always been an old soul and by the book, follows the law to the T kind of boy. It was interesting to see him grow up. He used to write down expired license plate registrations and also wrote do the plate numbers of car that ran the stop sign. Haha! It was in his blood, I guess and we know that he will always be a good and fair officer.
