To me dogs are not the students
not the ones that need training.

A Happy Belated birthday to my dear Piccolina Mia Sophia Bella...or Sophie Belle or Sophie. She turned 11 years old on Father's Day ( June 17th) but I wanted to give her a day of her own on 365. Though one of the reasons I picked her was that she was born on Father's Day. Another reason was she was born in Texas and besides...she was just so darn cute! You see, my dad had passed away 2 years before. He was born in Texas and I missed my dad so I saw it as a sign that Sophie was meant for me. Sophie has been a very healthy doggie and stops everyone in their tracks asking questions about her size, breed, haircut and/or age. And since Katniss has joined our family, Sophie has even more spring in her step because she wants to keep up with Katniss. They get along well together. I think the trick is that Katniss outweighs Sophie by 7 pounds. This levels the playing field! Katniss has never been afraid of Sophie and Sophie is surprised when Katniss doesn't run...so they share the house and yard and play together instead.
Such a sweet story and lovely Cesar poem. So, Sophie is tiny? If Katniss outweighs her by that much! Oh my, she’s adorable. I do love anything Texas born. 💖
Dogs are not called mans best friend for nothing. It is many years since we lost our golden retriever but we still have many fond memories of her time with us.
Thank you all for the birthday well wishes for my sweet Sophie. Only 5 pounds of fluff and the cutest little thing. I understand that I have been very lucky with her good health as I bought her over the internet from a small dog breeder in Texas sight unseen. And she did cost a pretty penny...in fact, when the woman retired, she asked if I would like Sophie's half sister that I would have named pretty Penny! She was liver colored with green eyes and another teacup at half the price but the grooming, etc. was going to be too much monthly at the time. Maybe in hindsight, I wish I had. Don't they say that most people regret what they didn't do over what they did? Anyway, I heard many a horror story about buying dogs online (being sick or never showing up at all) after I got her but she has been a little dream. We went to puppy classes, intermediate training and good canine citizen classes and where ever she goes, I am stopped by nice people and kids who ask about her. And by adding Katniss, it has only gotten better. I just cannot believe ten years have passed by since Sophie joined our family!
