One day we will have a world
where a chicken can cross
the road without being questioned
about his motives.

Taken in Old Fair Oaks, California that have free range chickens all over town (article below). They have the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival every year. I took this for the six word story challenge.
Heβs so gorgeous! Love your title and of course, your quote. What fun! So, Even though I collect chicken and rooster items I cannot imagine real chickens being loose everywhere, they are a pretty messy lot.
Thanks to you all! I had a bit of fun with this photo/caption/quote and was not expecting it to be such a hit. I am glad you enjoyed it. And an extra thank you to Suzanne for alerting me to correct my typo.
Thanks so much! Fair Oaks is a small area and the chickens and roosters roam freely. I have never seen any issues with them and they do add a bit of ambiance. There are not huge flocks but just a random 1-3 around certain areas of town. They are fun and a surprise for people who are visiting and for children to see...but the roosters can be loud. Thank you for all your comments and favs!
(you've got the comp tag a bit wrong, change the e to a w )
