When you
invite a kitten
into your home
you bring indoors
something slightly wild
often unpredictable and
always entertaining.
...Barbara L. Diamond
In March of 2016, I discovered that Katniss was a stray, left behind by a family who moved, and she was also pregnant. I knew nothing about cats but I wanted to help her. So, I started feeding her on March 13 when I discovered her sitting on the hood of my car that was parked in the garage. Turns out she had snuck in the night before when it was pouring rain, very cold and the winds were howling. After that she returned daily for a can of wet food morning and night. I was told that if she trusted us, she may bring us her kittens, so we left the garage door slightly open. On April 6, my husband discovered a kitten in a cardboard box of painting supplies. We took out the supplies and put a towel in the box instead. By April 8, Katniss had not brought us any other kittens and she moved the one kitten to a dirty corner of the garage. At that point, I turned the guest bathroom into the Four Seasons and brought them into the house.
Meet Panda...the black and white chosen one. My husband and I enjoyed watching Panda grow, learn and use up a couple of her nine lives. It was very fun and entertaining. We kept Katniss and Panda together until Panda found her forever home on June 6, 2016. Panda looked nothing like Katniss, which was a big surprise to me. Instead, she looked exactly like the suspected baby daddy feral tuxedo cat.
We never knew where Katniss gave birth but heard that a litter in our area had a kitten and mama disappear so I am hoping that any remaining kittens were rescued.
oh lord so so so so so cute. We really would love to have a kitten but we both work all day and therefore it wouldnt be fair on the kitty. But one day …. we will have one :) or more.
Great collage. One heart-melting shot after another.
Its such a shame that there are still people who will abandon their pets.
Thank you for being there for Katniss and Panda and providing a happy ending.
@brigette@skippysue Thank you so much for stopping by to comment on cute little Panda! She went to a good home of a young couple who had another cat and the two bonded immediately!
