Cats are the slipperiest of domestic animals.
Thousands of years of genetic coding has
taught them to melt into azaleas, lie
motionless behind garden gnomes, glide
along fence tops, and slink under benches.

Sadly, we said goodbye to two pretty Azalea plants in the backyard this summer...one was white and the other fuchsia. We had them for over twenty years. Katniss loves to stop and smell and nibble on everything outside. When I found out that these were poisonous to cats, I decided to take them out of the yard where she likes to spend a lot of her time. I will have to find a replacement that is less risky to her health.
A fabulous close up of this beautiful azalea. Such a shame it had to go. If we lived closer I would have happily given it a good home (we don’t have cats).
Such a vibrant colour! I’m sad that you had to get rid of your other azaleas- I fear the one we have in our garden has died due to the drought conditions we have at the moment .
I had no idea that Azaleas were poisonous! This is a beautiful photo of these blooms. We have an Azalea Trail in east Texas that is so beautiful every spring, it’s quite a nice day trip from our home.
