Church By The Sea

Built in the 1940's (on a wing and a prayer so to speak), the Church By The Sea has served the spiritual needs of Madiera Beach residents in Florida for 75 years. But, its the church's unusual architectural feature as much as its history that brings out flocks of curious visitors.

When I saw this church I thought it resembled a bird but it is affectionately called the chicken church. February 2019 marked its 75th anniversary. This is a charming church, not quite the centuries old ornate and beautiful churches in Europe.
