No poet has yet sung
the full beauty of our poppy.
No painter has successfully
portrayed the satiny sheen
of its lustrous petals.
In its abundance this colorful
plant should not be slighted.
Cherish it and be ever so thankful
that so rare a flower is common.

This and other poppies were growing on the corner of a driveway that was in our neighborhood. I pulled my car over and got out in the rain to take some photos. Of course, the older couple also came out of their home to see just what I was up to at the edge of their property. I think they were pleased I was admiring their golden poppies.
I love California poppies. This is so similar to my post from Monday with the purple Pom Pom. We must have been on the same wavelength when we took our pics. I'll add it to the list. 😃
