Why did the chickens cross the road? Evidently, to get out of the way of the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival.
I took Dillon, my 8 year old grandson to this event. I had never been before and wanted to check it out. He had a good time (bounce houses, old time games, face painting, balloon animal and ice cream) and actually got to see a few chickens though there were many more people than chickens on that day.
For decades, wild poultry have wandered the main streets and back roads of historic and tranquil downtown Fair Oaks. It has small town charm while the homes are expensive. Best on Black.
Interesting colors. Love how the red just pops. We love to go to Sunflower Cafe in Fair Oaks and have the nut burger. So popular that people eat on the curb outside because the seats indoors are all taken.
Looks as if this chicken wears its party dress for the festival ;)
