This is Emerald Bay, California and Fannette Island, located in Lake Tahoe. In 1969 Emerald Bay was recognized as a National Natural Landmark.

Took a walk down to see the Vikingsholm Castle with a beautiful view of Emerald Bay. It is a scenic steep decline 1 mile walk down to the castle, built in 1929. Then a strenuous 500' return elevation/steep incline back again. It was worth the hike. Nice on Black.

I had a traveling job (years back) and spend about 3 month working in Reno NV. It was around march/April and spring skiing time at Tahoe. What a magical place. Just stunning this view.
