When I woke up this morning there were at least 8 squirrels in the backyard...on the fence, on the ground, in the trees and in the bird feeders. And they were ravenous, eating everything in sight. We are going to try a shepherds hook to hang the bird feeders, away from trees and fence. I hope that works!?! The bird food has gone up in price along with everything else in the last few months. The squirrels will have their two hanging bowls but I want the birds to get some food as well.

We put safflower seeds in our feeder. The squirrels don’t eat it. There are other seeds they don’t like, too. I watched a squirrel climb a shepherd’s hook one time. I have seen Slinky’s attached to the pole and the squirrels can’t get to the food. It is an age old problem. Good luck!
