White-winged Dove

These white-winged doves have beautiful bright-orange eyes and blue "eye shadow"! Although they are daily visitors in my backyard, I hadn't noticed these colorful features until I took some close up shots.

I've never seen the white winged doves (at least I don't think I have) and that eye is gorgeous. I've noticed the blue before but I'll have to look at the eye closer next time. Wonderfully detailed shot.

Wow that eye is quite amazing. You are right about seeing detail through the lens that was never previously noticed. That is one of the things I enjoy most about photography. I took a starling the other day, and could not believe the amazing pattern on their body.
