Sharing The Feeder

It is always a treat to see male and female cardinals together on the feeder. Something unusual . . . the male's upper beak is split. I checked online and read that many birds suffer beak injuries during the course of their lives. This is the first time I've seen a bird with a cracked beak.
Sweet capture of these adorable little guys

A wonderful capture. Fantastic focus on the birds. I hope that the poor bird is not in pain with that split beak.

Fabulous photo and clarity. The beak looks unusual, but he must be able to eat ok.

What a delightful couple. His split beak doesn't seem to be preventing him scoffing the seeds!

I was wondering about that beak. Great shot of the pair. Looks like he is getting on despite his injury.

The color is so perfect Gayle - nicely captured! If I put anything out in a container like that it would become a feeding trough for the local deer unfortunately. Nicely done!
