wonderful colours. The world's oldest Flamingo died in 2014 here in the Adelaide Zoo. He was 83 and came to the zoo in the 1930s. He had a pond mate of 65 years. He was the only one in Australia and due to import restrictions we will probably not be replaced.
I love flamingos, they always remind me of the three years we lived in Cyprus. Flamingos used to migrate there in summer to feed off the salt lake close to where we lived.

After reading your comment I looked it up online and read a couple of articles about 'Greater', what the 83-year-old Greater Flamingo was affectionately known as. One of the articles mentioned that they were exploring options to erect a memorial to 'Greater' near the heritage listed flamingo pond. Do you know if they did that? Just wondering.
