Crash Landing by genealogygenie

Crash Landing

This ruby-throated hummingbird flew into our garage and couldn't find its way out. He then crashed into the wall and my husband carried him outside. He lay stunned for a bit, but thankfully after a little care and coaxing he eventually recovered and took off. I then got the feeder out and filled it with food, so hopefully he'll stick around this summer.

Don't know if it's their curiosity or what but we don't dare leave the shed open in the back or one will come in and can't find his way out Sure gave you an opportunity for a wonderful close up shot.

This really shows just how tiny these little birds are. Those throat feathers are so vibrant, aren't they. In case the little bird was too confused or frightened to say it, thank you for helping to rescue him.

How tiny and gorgeous--I'm so glad he recovered. Now he knows what nice people you and your husband are, so he'll probably patronize your feeder! Love this shot of him with his bright feathers, held so gently by your husband.
