Breath of Beauty

Butterflies are a breath of beauty fluttering by, they are mystery chronicled upon wing, they bring forth the grace and wonder of this world to our eyes everyday. ~ K. D’Angelo

Caught a glimpse of wings when I glanced out the window and grabbed my camera and dashed outside. This travel-worn beauty was gracefully flitting between the zinnias and allowed me to share its space. I was so excited when I identified this as a monarch and not a viceroy!

When I was a little girl, I was always in awe of the beautiful monarch butterflies that arrived in the summer. I even chose the monarch as the topic for a science report in grade school so I'm thankful this one enjoyed my garden today. Hope you enjoy its beauty too!

Yea for your monarch - yea for Kim! We're seeing more show up now and hopefully for the next month while on their migration. Really nice shot of him.

Such a lovely image of this Monarch with his wings outstretched as he enjoys your pretty garden. Congrats on the treasure of a photo-op.

Gorgeous capture Kim, definitely a fav. I loved the monarch too when i was growing up in the Niagara Peninsula--there were many of them then, and one summer I raised thirteen of them from the caterpillar stage--got to see the beautiful pupae, and let the newly emerged butterflies go on our butterfly bush. There are so few of them now--so glad you captured this one so beautifully.
