And, apparently, so do hummingbirds! This little hummer sat quietly at the feeder and allowed me to take multiple photographs at a very close range. I kept talking to him the whole time and then took a chance, reached out, and stroked its back several times. Made my day!! I'm wondering if it's feeling lonely since the activity at the feeder is diminishing as its companions head south for warmer weather..
I think our hummers have left for the season, I will miss them!
