While my wife and I were sitting at the table for dinner, she pointed out this amazing sight ... a hawk, sitting in one of the trees in our back yard, that had just flown there with a dead squirrel in his grasp .... picking away at it. In this shot you can see the squirrel's tail, and his right rear leg, if you look closely. There was not much else left of it, unfortunately. It seems cruel to some, but I love seeing how the cycle of life evolves in nature.
Such a beautiful bird. He is quite the hunter. How neat to see him in your back yard. It seems I only see them as we are driving along the highway and They are on the power lines searching for their prey.
