So ...How Did This Street Name Happen?

i was in an apartment complex near our home recently, that had SIX solid blocks deep and 5 blocks wide of apartments like this on every street. I shudder to think of how many apartments that is, but i sure as heck would do my best not to settle on a stree with this name!
