Left to the birds! by gilbertwood

Left to the birds!

We are known as "The shipwreck Coast" down here as there have been 638 known shipwrecks along our coastline! This small yacht will now add to it, as it broke it's moorings and was washed up on our Lady Bay beach. The seagulls were enjoying it :)
Hope the owners can rescue the boat

Oh no! I hope the boat wasn't too badly damaged. Great capture of the seagulls in flight too.

April 28th, 2016
Oh that's not good...I think if I had a boat, I'd avoid that coastline with a history of that many shipwrecks
April 28th, 2016
Oh no, what a shame.

A feeling of drama about this shot with the crazy angle of the boat and the whirling gulls.

Neat shot
April 28th, 2016
That almost hurts to see a boat like that. Can't believe that they let it get away from the moorings. Awesome shot.

Was that the front we copped yesterday, before the rain (what there was of it) came through?

Yachts do not do so well in strong winds! Even some at Bribie were beached last week!
April 29th, 2016
@sketch2 No, it actually happened at the weekend - took them 3 days before they salvaged it! We finally got some rain today, about 9 mls - hooray! And we're supposed to get more on Sunday :)
