This is a baby oystercatcher that shared the beach with the brolly girls on Saturday. We had the parents wandering the beach with us and getting cross at times. I suspected a baby somewhere but we couldn't see where! At one stage I went between rocks and was about to sit on a ledge when I miraculously just saw it. A quick photo, then I left it alone - much to the pleasure of the parents! Sadly today all 3 birds are gone - the baby was in a very vulnerable place that a dog could easily get it - it is a leash-free beach for dogs.
