Proud parent

Last week I was delighted to find an oystercatcher family at a Port Fairy beach. We watched them for ages scurrying around the small secluded beach.

Most of our Oystercatchers have left for the winter. We have big numbers here in the summer but most head off south although some over winter and we get some Scandinavian migrants for the winter as well.
