This Scaly-breasted Lorikeet popped up to the table at my friend's house yesterday. Usually one of a visiting flock, he was apparently making a solo foray in the hope of a handout. He's one of a large number that hang around in the surrounding rainforest. He'll need to keep an eye out for the Carpet Python I posted yesterday; otherwise he'll be someone else's lunch!
@tonyjsisti Thanks, Tony. Generally frowned on as it's best to let them fly free. Galahs and Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos are the ones that we mostly see in cages, although not as many as they used to be. It's cruel to lock them up, really.
He's a brave one. Nice shot. They virtually do become like pets when you regularly put food out for them. We've got cockatoos that have been coming to our yard for years.
Hi, Robin! Sorry I didn't get to this yesterday, but I spent the whole day sick in bed. I love all the color in your album, so my challenge to you is a b&w shot. Anything you want. In b&w. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
