This pair of Eastern Ospreys nest here every year. I've created the collage to show the height of the pole on which they've built this massive nest. It's at least 2 metres wide and would weigh over 100 kg. The sizes of the branches they've used to construct their nest are huge and heavy. This one was standing on the nest calling out to its mate who was circling overhead. They were changing over, taking turns with the egg-sitting. They are birds of prey and always nest near the river, where they can be seen circling, looking for fish to eat and/or bring back to their young.
