I saw movement in this gum tree bole high up in the bush surrounding my friend's house. Then I saw one of the parent kookaburras fly up to the hole and poke around. Zooming in, I was delighted to find this baby kookaburra, nestled in, safe and dry from the rain.
@ludwigsdiana It's a sort of abnormal 'growth' that's formed on the tree and has been hollowed out by the birds to form a cosy space for raising their babies.
