I have been away for 10 days on a road trip around inland NSW and the Victorian coast. I found this Cape Barren Goose on Phillip Island in Victoria. These geese inhabit the southern islands of Australia and are one of the world's rarest geese. There were certainly plenty of them there. Looks good on black.
@cjwhite We have the northern hemisphere geese as well but this is a native one. Makes good eating, I've heard, but they're protected now since they were almost wiped out in the 19th century. We also have one called a Magpie Goose from the tropical parts of Oz; same story.
