Strange place to nest

These black swans have built their nest right beside a public walkway on a beach. Someone has placed a container of water for them. She takes a drink every now and then, moves her eggs around then settles back. Bottom right pic. shows where the nest is built. I hope the local dogs don't decide to hassle them. Father swan parades around on the waves, chasing away seagulls.

so tough for wildlife to cohabit with us, then people say - oh strange place, but there was probably little safe choices for her. how lovely someone has given her water :)

@koalagardens Yes, I know what you mean. I am really just remarking that it's unusual to see a swan in such a situation (which is a good thing, of course).
