A pair of English Sparrows; the male is in front. They do not mate for life, (thus the Mistress :-) Their natural diet is mostly insects and seeds from various grasses and plants. A lot of them die off in the winter when there is no access to birdfeeders, and snow cover is persistent. But "mine" are fat and happy. :-)

Also, I sure appreciate your recent views and comments. :-)

They are cute. Cool shot. Sadly those English sparrows are in decline in England. When I was a boy they were really numerous. Today they are definitely much reduced. Nice shot.
@kimmiesue Hi Kim, and thank you so much for stopping in, and I ReALLY appreciate the Fav. Makes me feel great! Not easy to catch, I must say; they're always on the move. :-) Take good care, Les x
@karenann Thanks for your apreciation Karenann. It was well worth the frozen toes and numb fingers from being out there long enough to wait for the sun to be in the right place. Take good care now, Les x
@netkonnexion Lots of thanks Damon. We have more thanour fair share of this species; maybe we should send you a million or 2. :-) After all, they ARE yours to begin with! All the best, Les
