Rusting away

Not much left of this poor old ute any more.
What a great find. Don't think it's going to get through roadworthy though.

Great find...may need a mechanic

@onewing Probably not, just as well we don't have annual roadworthies in Victoria. It'd just be another rust-bucket on the roads.

@graemestevens That'd be a darned good start.

This is great, the way the truck seems to be sinking right into the earth. Very cool.

@taffy Actually, you're quite right. It is gradually rusting away and collapsing in/on to the earth.

A photographers' dream! Suits b&w.

What is it about rusty, OLD, abandoned cars being consumed by the surrounding vegetation?! They're quite wonderful to photograph!

@dide Thanks Dianne. Dunno what there is about b&w, but you're right.

@Weezilou Perhaps they represent the transitory nature of our existence. Or maybe the excesses of our throw-away societies? Whatever, I find them irresistable.
January 22nd, 2017
@golftragic I never actually thought of the latter, but the transitory nature of everything is what I always find interesting!

@Weezilou Me too. Having grown-up in a society that mended things and saved, I find much of the throw-away mentality very hard to swallow.
