1935 Ford pick-up

Coming home from golf on Wednesday I spied this beautiful restored pickup/ute just near our place. Naturally, I went home to collect my camera and came back to take some shots. Unfortunately, the background was terrible, typical suburban street visual mess. Still not happy with this one, but no more time to play today.
I think it is brilliant, what a fabulous 'seeing-to' A gorgeous ute too, somebody's pride and joy.

Thanks Babs, I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this beauty and couldn't get back there quick enough. Even better, I knew the bloke who live there 'does up' old cars but had never seen him, let alone met him but had a good chat with him on Wednesday. Apparently a few like-minded mates come round every Sunday between 4 and 6pm to talk old cars, show off their latest and have a few beers. He's happy for me to wander round there to photograph anything interesting. Yayy! Glad you liked the seeing-to, I spent ages looking for a texture to put behind the ute but couldn't find what I had in mind. The selection proved rather harder than I'd expected too.

@golftragic I bet he really enjoyed chatting to you about his old cars. Look forward to seeing more shots.

@onewing Sure hope so, watch this space.

@gigiflower Thanks Sam, the bloke says it'll do 100 mph. I'd hate to be sitting in it at that speed.

@graemestevens Many thanks, much appreciated.

@dibzgreasley Oh definitely, especially since it was only about 200m from our place.

A double bonus, both seeing the car and getting to know the restorer as well. There's a lot of work in this.

This editing makes the car pop out of the image. Looks great. Great that you can have the chance for more images too.

@ethelperry Not often you get two for the price of one, I grabbed it with both hands. You're right, one helluva lot of work restoring old-timers like this. I wouldn't have the patience even if (a BIG IF) I had the know-how.

@dide Thanks Dianne, I'll be checking out 'round the corner' tomorrow with fingers crossed.

It could be an advert for the car, given the background.

Great work with the background. Fav

@taffy Thanks Taffy, I think I can still find a better background but this will do for the time being.

@888rachel Not wrong, I'm always amazed by the perfection of the old restored cars I see from time to time. Must keep the blokes out of mischief for ages and ages.
