Gardener and iPhone

No matter where we travel, wherever you look there's one or more people on a mobile phone. I'd forgotten Sigiriya is a World Heritage site but will add a link that fills in a lot of the blanks I've left.

Such a contrast between her daily job and the modern technology.

Hard at work :)

What did people do before mobile phones.

We stopped at a petrol station at South West Rocks and there were only two bowsers. The chap in front of us was just sitting there in his car and we couldn't get to the bowser. We thought initially that he was waiting for someone to come out of the shop but eventually I went up knocked on his window and asked him to move. He was just texting on his phone.

Your images of people at work are always fascinating - so many basic differences are noticeable - but the phones are universal! I like the splash of colour this lady makes with her dress - against so many nice greens.

A lovely image with beautiful colours. The flipping mobile phone has taken over the world! Frightening!

Goodness me. No escaping the smartphone!

Such a sign of the times - and I'm as guilty as everyone else!

Great image Marnie, the contrast between her dress and the green surrounding her works well. Thanks for the link. It was interesting read :)

@dide Very true, this juxtaposition is constantly hitting me in the eye wherever I look.

@gilbertwood Perhaps it was smoko time?

Un-bloody-believable!!!

@robz Thaks Rob, this one needed colour.

@pamknowler Yep, not wrong, the more you look, the more you see.
January 14th, 2019
@gigiflower Nope! They're everywhere, and that's ok, but why rusted-on?
January 14th, 2019
@haskar Absolutely!! We all have one, but not all of us are glued to the darned thing.

It just seems so incongruous to see a sweeper taking a cell phone break! I like how her dress color pops off the green grass too.

When I retire I am going back to school to learn to be a neck doctor!

@olivetreeann The whole mobile phone thing in poor countries seems so odd. But I guess they must be cheap/accessible and/or more reliable in comparison with land-lines (outdated anyway).

@pickerandagrinner You could always specialise in detaching rusted-on mobiles from the various ears.

Beautiful photo.
