Oh wow I love this ! The sky the stream - fav

I like this panorama like POV. What a lovely day it was.

@kareenking The channel is fresh water fed by a spring, and is pretty deep. The lake is salt water and very shallow.
September 19th, 2019
@samae Thanks Sarah, much appreciated.
September 19th, 2019
I like the panorama view also

@ethelperry Looks great so long as you can get your tee-shot away safely Ethel. It was a cracker of a day last Tuesday and I was thoroughly enjoying my two-hour on-course golf lesson with one of the pros.

@mharris19 Many thanks
September 19th, 2019
Nicely composed!
September 19th, 2019
A fabulous capture of this very tricky course! I would hate the thought of playing there in windy conditions. Love the stream that runs through it.
September 19th, 2019
Ah Marnie, wish I could play there ...right now ...Beautiful !
September 19th, 2019
Lovely shot and beautiful blue sky.
September 19th, 2019
What a lovely setting for a game of golf.
September 19th, 2019
Love the blue colour of the river, so refreshing.
September 19th, 2019
@kwind Many thanks
September 19th, 2019
@ludwigsdiana You're right about being a tricky course. Look it up on the internet, it's in the top 25 or so in Oz. As for the wind, the Southern Ocean is just over the dunes to the right so we get lots and lots of wind, particularly south-westerlies.
September 19th, 2019
@momamo Come on down here and we can have a game.
September 19th, 2019
@dide It was a glorious spring day with no wind - for once.
September 19th, 2019
@onewing In good weather, definitely. In bad weather it's more than very tricky. Les slipped into that channel a few winters back (trying to retrieve a ball on the bank), very deep freezing cold water, she with lots of cold-weather clothes on, steep treacherous banks. Bad cut on one hand from rushes bleeding like mad. Took three of us to get her out before she drowned, then rushed her to the private hospital emergency where (for $200) she was seen straight away. Any wonder I have mixed feelings about that channel.

@yaorenliu Just reflecting the gorgeous clear sky I guess. It was a wonderful spring day.
September 19th, 2019
I am not surprised you have mixed feeling about the channel after Les's fall there! Very beautiful setting though.
September 19th, 2019
Just reading your reply to @onewing - sounded pretty ghastly!
September 19th, 2019
It does look a great place on a great day - but I just read about Les' fall - very traumatic!!
September 19th, 2019
What a spot to play. I suspect I’d get distracted from the game
September 19th, 2019
Lovely stop to have a game, the blue of the water is stunning!
September 19th, 2019
What a beautiful course
September 19th, 2019
Lovely course but looks challenging
September 19th, 2019
What a gorgeous, tricky hole. Your golf course is just fabulous!
September 19th, 2019
@casablanca @dide @gilbertwood @onewing Absolutely awful!!! Full version. Being a cold mid-winter day she had umpteen layers on, the cold water brought on breathing difficulties, she'd gashed her hand. Plus, I was the first one to try to help, the other two had kept playing thinking we were OK. My mobility's pretty ordinary, but I got down the slippery crumbling muddy bank, and got a hand on her but couldn't move at all then. Kathy and Heather soon realised that there was a serious problem and came racing over to help. Formed a human chain effect and towed a sodden Les out of the water and up a 1.5 - 2 metre bank. We then got her into one of the carts and raced back to the clubhouse, meanwhile alerting them we would need a first aider when we got there. Then patched her up enough to stop the bleeding, towelled her down as much as possible and raced into town to the clinic we use only to find that the on-duty doctor had left because nothing was happening!!! So after a brief visit home I took her into St John of God A&E where, for $200 she was immediately seen by a doctor, cleaned up, stitched up, given shots and treated for shock. Money well spent IMO. Needless to say no-one tries to retrieve a wayward ball from that channel bank now!!

@jgpittenger The Beach Course is very scenic, the Creek Course less so. We all get a bit distracted from time to time, me with a camera, and one particular friend with bird-watching (lots of them on the courses). We see other wildlife too, rabbits, hares and foxes (none of them welcome), echidnas (gorgeous) and snakes (treat with great respect and watch where you put your feet in the rough).
September 20th, 2019
@angelikavr We're very lucky people to have such a good place to play golf.
September 20th, 2019
@samae Sure is Sarah.
September 20th, 2019
@fbailey Yep, on both counts. More than challenging when the south-westerlies blow hard. One of the holes brought a whole field of pros in the VicOpen undone in gale-force westerlies, no-one could keep their ball on the green. Welcome to our world!
September 20th, 2019
@robz Thanks Rob, there are far trickier ones out there too.
September 20th, 2019
@golftragic Goodness me, what a story! Poor Les. She must have been very shocked by the experience........and you!!!
September 20th, 2019
It looks calm and cute. And as usual, illusions! As for the health service, I have just renewed my bad opinion about its organization.
September 20th, 2019
What are echidnas?
September 21st, 2019
@jgpittenger Gorgeous little critters with lots of spines, not at all agressive, quite timid. https://www.wired.com/2014/07/the-creature-feature-10-fun-facts-about-the-echidna/

@haskar Lovely to look at on a nice day, horrendous on a bad day. As for the health service in Geelong (population around 250,000), the huge public hospital is overloaded because our various governments haven't adequately funded the public system for years. We have two excellent large private hospitals, both of which have a fee-based Emergency department.
