Whaaaat? by golftragic

Whaaaat?

It's only early October!!! Seen in the local supermarket 3 days ago.
That is rather ridiculous, by the time Christmas comes nobody will want them anymore.

Crazy ... saw some christmas deco's in the shop yesterday .. actually bought a couple of Christmas presents yesterday as well ..

Most of our stores already have Christmas items for sale
October 11th, 2019
@ludwigsdiana I agree, the early start takes all the real fun out of the day.
October 11th, 2019
@julzmaioro I reckon trying to sell Xmas stuff so far before the big day takes all the anticipation and fun out of it all.

@bkbinthecity Blatant commercialisation IMHO.
October 11th, 2019
It is ridiculous!
October 11th, 2019
We have full on Christmas trees already for sale here....
October 11th, 2019
Incredible!
October 11th, 2019
Lol!! May be last years stock?!
October 11th, 2019
It's just a package! And Santa has a lot of work to do.
October 11th, 2019
Isn’t that ridiculous!
October 11th, 2019
But Marnie , Santa has a lot to do. Santa in our house has already started buying the odd thing for the Santa bags - these look like a good stocking filler! :)

Oh my
October 12th, 2019
@dide Absolutely!
October 12th, 2019
@blueberry1222 Good grief. If they're real ones they wouldn't last till Christmas.
October 12th, 2019
@caterina Greed!
October 12th, 2019
@photographycrazy Could be, but I doubt it. I didn't check the cakes 'n stuff, but wouldn't be surprised if there were Christmas puds in there already. Our local Aldi also has Christmas (German) Stollen and some other things this week.
October 12th, 2019
@haskar I guess that's one way of looking at it, but I think it's just commercialisation gone mad.
October 12th, 2019
@angelikavr Definitely!
October 12th, 2019
@robz I hear what you're saying, but surely the emergence of Christmas stuff in October spoils the make-believe part for kids?
October 12th, 2019
@jgpittenger My thoughts precisely.
October 12th, 2019
I agree with you but I must admit, it also made my life as an expat-parent so much easier and more agreeable, being able to buy Sinterklaas(Dutch Santa)- Christmas and Easter decorations and sweets and put them in our suitcases months before the Season started !
October 12th, 2019
@golftragic LOL - I hadn't thought of it like that but that is a good point. Our kids that get Santa bags are aged 30, 32 and 34. And, would you believe, at this late stage Santa has remembered us and Errol and I also get a Santa bag - it's turned into quite a lively family Xmas morning. :)
October 12th, 2019
@momamo That's a fair point Monique, and you don't have the little ones with you so the presents are still a surprise on the day.
October 13th, 2019
@robz Adults? No problemo! It's the little kids I see trailing round the supermarket who make it problematic for me.
