Generation gap by golftragic

Generation gap

In more ways than one. Southern Cross station a couple of days ago.

Apologies for lack of comments, very busy these few days.
Wonderful capture! Such a great candid! These old people actually talk to each other! Wow that must confuse the young girl on her phone! A real sign of the times Marnie! Good to see you posting- I missed you! Hope all ok?

Yep, all good thanks Pam. Geelong's an hour from here by (regional) train to Melbourne. Very cheap travel as Seniors so never drive there. Went up Wednesday to see the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child double-header (2 sessions). Overnighted in Melbourne, home midday yesterday. I'm off to Melbourne in an hour or so for two nights with my sisters, we live a very long way apart despite being born and bred in Melbourne (I'm the nearest by a long way). So back on the train again shortly. So busy I have to make an appointment to talk to myself. Bring on Sunday arvo!!

Pure gold. Have to confess I sometimes have a play with phone if I am left on my own for long.

Wonderful commentary on where and how we connect these days.

Fabulous candid of this huge gap!

What? A real conversation? Have a great time with your sisters.

Wow, well spotted, two people actually talking to each other. This is something you don't see much of these days.
October 18th, 2019
Wondered where you had got to!! Guess you've been sitting with these ladies!!!!
October 18th, 2019
No better way than to underscore what we see around us daily!!! You really nailed it! (It could be a banner hung everywhere...a billboard without words... But would they look up and see it?!)

Perfect for street-62! Fav

Great candid shot. Two ways to communicate old and new.

I do notice nobody has a dress on here - not even that chap in the background!
Nice to have a train to travel on -we just have to sit in buses in the public sector!

@ludwigsdiana I couldn't resist taking that sneaky shot.
October 21st, 2019
@dide Yep, actually talking to someone else, face to face!!
October 21st, 2019
@gilbertwood I was waiting for Les who was otherwise occupied briefly. I've been in Melbourne for five days, only home for one night in the middle.
October 21st, 2019
@Weezilou Nah, far too many of the younger generation/s seem to have lost the art of actual face to face communication. And I don't mean FaceTime!
October 21st, 2019
@caterina Thanks Caterina, I'll tag it.
October 21st, 2019
@etienne Thanks Etienne, I thought it really told the story without words.
October 21st, 2019
@angelikavr @haskar Yes, the communication gulf between the two generation/s is stark.
October 21st, 2019
@maggiemae I don't own a dress and haven't for over twenty years so I wouldn't notice that MM. And yes, we're very lucky to have a good train service, runs about three times an hour weekdays and half-hourly at weekends. The line is one of the oldest in Victoria, and probably the busiest with lots of people commuting to Melbourne daily.

@graemestevens Very sneaky, but too good to miss.
October 21st, 2019
@ethelperry That's fair enough, but I'll bet you'd sooner talk to someone face to face.
October 21st, 2019
@jgpittenger Thanks Jane, I'd never have seen this shot pre-365.
October 21st, 2019
@momamo Thanks, I couldn't let that opportunity go begging.
