Signs of our times 23

This is what greets you as you step inside our local large chemist shop (pharmacy). Numbers in the shop are strictly limited, before you get inside everyone has to wait their turn outside, well socially distanced. When you get the nod you step inside the doors, and have to answer several questions before proceeding. All a bit of a procedure, but well worth the slight inconvenience.
...if you're sick and need medicine, don't come into the pharmacy? Ok, so it's for everyone's good, but it is rather incongruous!

Same at our chemist. A few days ago I had to pick up a prescription and entered the chemist from the car park entrance. Had my hands squirted with hand sanitizer put in my script. Went to Woolworths had my hands sanitized again, then in to Coles to pick up milk, hands sanitized again. Back to the chemist from the shopping centre entrance, had to stand outside, answered lots of questions. They said the shop was too full at the moment so she went off picked up my script and gave it to me at the entrance, I then had to wait until the check out was free, hands sanitized again and then paid for my pills. With so much alcohol seeping into my system from the sanitizer I would probably fail a breath test.

@Weezilou They do deliver so I guess that covers those bases.

@onewing I know exactly what you mean Babs. The skin on my hands is starting to really suffer from all the drying out.

@Weezilou And the local medical clinics are now offering tele-conference appointments too.

She should be wearing a mask

Sobering times for us all to navigate. Hope she does put on a mask soon.

Probably same all over, except here everyone wears a mask now.

We have these in the supermarkets too. Stark, isn't it? You would hope no-one with those symptoms would be out mixing at all but some do.

A definite sign of the times!

Interesting, no sign of hand sanitiser when you enter Coles or Woolies, but plenty of it at Bunnings. There are signs at the pharmacies but no questions.

I think it's similar everywhere. Only with us is the lady behind the large glass and has the contact through a small window.

Very similar signs over here but not as large as this one!

@casablanca Yes, some people seem to be devoid of any cognitive function/s and/or caring.

@gilbertwood Oh yes, this is the strictest shop in Belmont. Fair enough though.
April 24th, 2020
@merrelyn No hand sanitiser in Coles, but lots of wipes in those big containers so you can wipe your hands and your trolley handle too.
April 24th, 2020
@haskar Some places here have screens like that, some don't.
April 24th, 2020
@fbailey This is the only big one I've seen round here, I guess chemist shops are highly vulnerable.
April 24th, 2020
That's a big and clear sign! But where's her mask and gloves?
April 24th, 2020
@onewing your comment made me laugh! I just stay home -- Day 41now. Don't need any hand sanitizer but I have been wiping down the mail and groceries when they arrive.
