Neighbourhood 16 by golftragic

Neighbourhood 16

Now we're allowed to play golf - all socially distance, sanitised, tech-based, dunked into disinfectant, removed, changed, moved, take-away only or done via your phone - my neighbourhood has expanded to include the golf club. Sorry Denise @gilbertwood, but since I've spent large parts of the past 3 days outta 4 at the golf club that's where I've been.
An excuse to be out and about. Looks like you are also able to buy a coffee or flat white/cappuccino

@salza Yes, but this bloke's coffee skills were sadly lacking unfortunately. Not someone I've ever seen before. The whole place has been closed down, but very slowly cranking up to an appoximation of normal. Coffee should be better next week - I hope!!

@golftragic practice should make perfect. Sadly it seems that my favourite local coffee shop will not be reopening after lockdown. Sadly this is something that we are starting to hear about more and more.

You go, girl 👍 keep doing what makes you happy ☺️

Good shot for your records and photo book coming up. It doesn’t matter how good the beans are, we need a good barista to bring out the flavour. A youngish woman barrister came to live in Mallacoota and got a job in a cafe. She used to ask us if we would like the barrister or the barista?

I bet you are chuffed to bits to be out on the golf course again. Shame the coffee didn't meet the required standards, maybe he is new.

So pleased for you that you are able to get out for you golf Marnie I know how much you love it!! We are now allowed to play golf also but it's a game I have never tried and probably a bit late now to start!! I do love a good strong coffee!!

He's out of practice! hopefully he will improve with time!

Dounds amazing Marnie, lap up every second and enjoy ⛳
May 16th, 2020
I bet you're enjoying being back on the golf course. Hopefully the coffee will improve :)

It is good that you can go. We will still have to wait at least next week to go to the gym...
May 16th, 2020
Ha ha!! I guess if you could take your sleeping bag to the golf course, it would definitely become your neighbourhood!!!! Then again these chilly mornings might be a bit hard :) Hope you're having fun in "your neighbourhood" :)

Life will not be the same as before and that is probably a good thing. Maybe, we won't take the little things for granted as we have done so in the past.

Glad more is available to you. I was surprised that he's not wearing a mask but I suppose where you are, the requirements are less stringent. Stay safe!
May 17th, 2020
Time to enjoy

@salza That's very bad news Sally. ☹️☹️

@momamo Thanks Monique, I'm resting up today, my wonky ankle told me it'd had enough! Three days out of four! Maybe, I'm not as young as I used to be.

@ethelperry Bet that made you chuckle Ethel. You're quite right re the barista's skills. I've never seen that young bloke before and discovered a bit later that he's on Jobseeker so should have L-plates on. The restaurant/bar/eatery has, of course, been closed and remains so for the foreseeable future so the regular casuals are goodness-only-knows where. It was so good to hear Dan say this morning that some of the relevant restrictions will be lifted shortly. As things stand right now, we can get a take-away drink (hot or cold) and sandwich/egg and bacon roll but then have to leave the place. Half the fun is gossiping with your friends after the game, it feels really odd to just bid them farewell as we all clamber into our respective cars.
May 17th, 2020
@onewing Yeah, if you read my reply to Ethel @ethelperry you'll see he's a real newbie who needs L-plates. I very much hope someone more experienced is back on deck next time.

@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana, I've been out there three days of the past four so my wonky ankle is playing up today, but it was worth it. Comps Wed and Sat, a 2-hour lesson on the Friday. Whew. Gorgeous weather for a few days, but due to change bigtime on Wed. :(
May 17th, 2020
@merrelyn Definitely, on both counts.
May 17th, 2020
@domenicododaro That's a real pain for those whose exercise is working out. Hope you get back to that bit of normal soon.
May 17th, 2020
@gilbertwood Only 3 degrees when we hit off yesterday, lots of layers needed. Think I might leave the sleeping bag in the cupboard. Come to think of it, I gave mine to #2 grandson.
May 17th, 2020
@joysabin You are right, of course, and whether the new normal is better or worse will depend on a whole range of variables as I'm certain you are well aware. As well as doing some very good stuff, our federal government has slipped in a couple of really sneaky bits of legislation too in the hope that none of us would notice. Lots of us did notice, of course, but can't do much about it. :(

@jyokota For some reason masks are neither required nor de rigeur here Junko. I wore one a couple of times in the big hardware store but I was the only one. I haven't bothered since. There's been heavy and constant emphasis on hand hygiene, no touching stuff, social distancing and staying in your own neighbourhood. Only four reasons to be out and about: exercise (ourdoors), essential shopping, medical and work/education. Closing the borders, both national and interstate was a very effective move though travellers coming from the US and Iran should've been banned much sooner that was the case. Unless you were an Aussie citizen you couldn't get into the country and in the vast majority of cases anyone coming back from specified countries had to go into mandatory quarantine/isolation for 14 days.

@jgpittenger You betcha.
May 17th, 2020
@pamknowler Thanks Pam. You never know what you might like to do once this plague has run its course - if that ever happens. But now would not be a good time to start learning!
May 17th, 2020
Perfection is the idea of going outside, walking on the course, seeing friends at a safe distance...all little things that now will mean so much.
May 17th, 2020
@taffy You are oh so right Taffy. My world, and my appreciation of it has changed a great deal. The simple little things we all took for granted have now become quite special treats. I just hope our supposed leaders can grasp the opportunity to make some changes for the better. I probably hope in vain, but one can dream.
